In today’s stressful world people are in search of enough reasons to bring a smile on their face, which gets lost somewhere in the difficulties one faces. With a motive to make you smile every time you read time is Smile V.1, designed by Firdaus from Malaysia.
No other device would have seen so many incarnations of itself than the watch. Almost every designer out there has presented his or her version of a watch. The looks are changed, the colors are played with, the method of time telling is changed, the strap is given a brand new design and sometimes the entire watch is disguised as a strap. On a click of a button the time telling parts emerge.
This will reminisces you of a gadget straight from a Sci-fi movie, wherein all the aliens in flashy robotic suits zoom around in their highly mechanised flying soccer’s. But precisely, with everything becoming so portable these days, this USB watch doesn’t lessen your mobility quotient even by an ounce.
This watch concept is named simply and appropriately FIRE. The hour and minute hands are lit by LEDs that simulate torch powered cigarette lighters. It’s anything but traditional but doesn’t offer anything new functionally. Still, it’s a HOT watch. BTW this is a good year to quite smoking. Just saying.
Although all watches are watches of time, not all watches are floating watches of time. This watch is one that takes into account the first through third dimensions, plus the fourth, which designer Matej Korytar says is time itself. Ironically, this fourth dimension is displayed in the third. This display has the capability to display the time based on gravity or relative to the head of the person whose wrist the watch is around. Need to see the time? No more need to move your arm, just look down at it! So very simple.
