You’ve seen the movie Blade Runner, yes? Aka the greatest science fiction movie ever made? That’s the one. Even if you haven’t seen it, you’ve probably seen the scene where Harrison Ford is doing some police work and keeps saying “enhance. enhance.” Well that’s what’s going on here! He’d love this watch, this watch called the “Scope Watch” and it’s a total time tracker!
Intended toward the trendsetting age group who not only wear fashion but are the real fashion, the “Lumidot” by designer Linda Jiang is an innovative wristwatch that looks more like a fashion accessory than a timepiece. Strapping on your wrist like a trendy band, the wristwatch integrates an illuminated LED dot display to tell the time. The sides of the watch band glow to indicate PM. The Lumidot is not only a device to calculate time, but it is a personification of free lifestyle of the bass-cranking youngsters for whom life has no limits and time is merely a suggestion.
While watches are supposed to tell time, the functional representation of different positions of the moon has given the moonwatch concept a unique stand. The mysticism and admiration of the effect of moon’s position in daily life events like human behavior, agriculture, tidal patterns and many more have been considered vital over thousands of years. This concept has made it easy to establish the link between a person’s emotional state and the moon cycle by featuring an innovative way of representing the moon’s position right onto the user’s wrist. Aside from great functionalities, the stylish design of the watch will be appreciated by all.
The “Laser Timing” from TokyoFlash is a wristwatch concept that tells time as mysteriously as it looks. Featuring the mysterious wristwatch flashes a laser beam through a small window to reflect the time on a flat surface. All you need to do is touch the button, located on the side, with your finger. Flashing time like a target, the hours in the outer ring, five minutes on the second ring blank face and dark stainless steel case, and single minutes on the innermost ring, the Laser Timing creates a sense of awe and wonder.
Removing extra parts from your conventional watch, German designer Robert Dabi has come up with a minimalist wristwatch that turns into a bracelet or fashionable accessory for the trendy. Entitled the “Zero Wristwatch,” the concept watch eliminates all unnecessary buttons, loose parts or even ciphers for a clean and stylish design. Depicting the hours with inner and minutes with the outer circle, the new timepiece touts a metal dial that extends to become the strap, which gets thinner toward the ends so it could fit on different wrists with a slight adjustment. Check out the video after the jump.
If you too don’t agree with Kopernikus, Swiss designer Matthias Pugin has devised a unique wristwatch named “Dawn” that instead of the sun places the wearer at the center of the universe. But unlike traditional watches, the Dawn works with an OLED display and displays time with the pictograms of the sun and the moon, which revolves around your wrist. As it takes some time to learn how to exactly read the time, the watch also displays time in the traditional way. As soon as you are able to tell the time just by looking at the position of the sun or the moon, you can switch from showing the time to showing the date.
Ah! Watches! How I love them!! It seems like designer Andy Kurovets has designed this watch just for me. Titled ‘Liquid Time’ and also’ From Nowhere to Nowhere’, this watch uses Led backlight and beautiful crafty typography to display the 5th dimension- time. Set beautifully in a metal body with a LED screen, it is available in white metal, black and red. Basically digital in nature, yet the style of the numerals is quite distinctive and hence I like the name ‘Liquid Time’ for it. It looks no less than some jewellery piece. I loved it so much; I wish I could team this up with my gorgeous black dress I purchased recently.

Industrial designer David Keith, along with his team of researchers, has designed a stylish watch that does more than just tell you the time. The watch powered by the movement of the hand is designed with a built-in CO2 scrubber that tries to make you a carbon neutral person, by continuously removing carbon dioxide from the air surrounding you.

The eCO2 captures carbon dioxide through the CO2 scrubber and clean air is then released through the exhaust vent provided. To keep the electronics powered up, the watch relies on micro generators to harness the energy of movement. The interface displays the amount of CO2 removed, the amount of juice left in its batteries, and of course time.
