The LG Eco Solar is a concept phone by industrial designer Aaron Martinez that adds sustainability to your chatter with renewable energy. The phone features an onboard solar panel that can be recharged in sunlight or by incandescent and fluorescent lights when indoors.

The concept is compatible with Windows Mobile and features a brilliant display with advanced touchscreen technology, LED backlight, LED illuminated magnifier, Microsoft Silverlight Browser. Attributing the characteristics of a portable console to your mobile handset, designer Thomas Broadbent has devised a cellphone concept that literally turns your mobile phone into a gaming controller. The ”Gaming Phone,” as the designer hails the phone concept, makes use of a “life light” which shows the power or life of your opponents, together with a microSD card slot that allows extra memory and storage space for new games streamed from the net. The Hybrid cellphone also includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, a USB charger/connection port and a fully colored screen to enrich your experience.

What Will Motorola’s Future Phones Look Like in 2033?

Motorola’s designers, from five different offices around the globe, have been dedicating a portion of their time since late last year to a project called “Motorola 2033.” The initiative, under the auspices of the Consumer Experience Design team (CXD), uses the 25th anniversary of the mobile phone as an opportunity to imagine mobile device design 25 years on, resulting in a curious set of research-based blue sky concepts rooted in some fantastical, yet plausible suppositions.

The results range from the relatively obvious (a phone embedded in a ring), to the technologically unlikely (‘Minority Report’ style gestures and floating screens), and the genuinely inspiring–especially when they start leveraging the extensive non-US, non-Europe influence in their distributed team.

Esato board user razec has surpassed himself yet again and you are certainly familiar with the XPERIA Candela concept phone. Well, now it has been finalized, so you can check it out below and there’s an impressive specs list to have a look at, as well.

Razec’s splendid XPERIA Candela concept packs a capacitive touchscreen display, a 12 megapixel CCD camera with 720p HD video capture and the ability to record videos at 300 FPS. This handset also comes with BRAVIA technology, since it’s the first phone to incorporate a RGB LED display taken directly from the BRAVIA TVs.

This screen sports a 1,000,000: 1 contrast ratio and a 852 x 480 pixels resolution @ 16:9. Android 2.0 OS runs the show on the device, in its fully customized version and in case you’re wondering, there’s no physical keyboard on this device, but rather a virtual one, thanks to another capacitive display.

Said secondary capacitive display will play the role of a keyboard, jotter, music player buttons and a virtual game pad. It also comes with handwriting recognition, a math calculator and a magnetic stylus. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Candela even supports Photoshop, thanks to an AMD Z430 graphics core, while gaming is handled with the aid of a Snapdragon processor, that supports 22M T/sec and 136M Pix/s, for a PlayStation-like experience.

As if these specs weren’t enough, the list is completed by a magnesium arc slider design, HSUPA 2100 MHz/ WiMAX 802.16e connectivity, a Jukebox mode, 384MB DDR SDRAM, 512MB ROM, 16/32GB internal memory and a 1500 mAh Lithium Polymer battery. I am officially in love with this phone and frankly it’s hard to believe that we’ll see a more attractive XPERIA concept in 2009.

At their booth at CEATEC Fujitsu has introduced many appealing designs for concept phone. As they are yet in the concept stage, cannot be sure which design will actually come true someday. However, some of the designs which really caught my attention are- the red cylindrical phone that displays both a virtual keyboard and screen, the transparent soaplike phone with green button, the watch like phone and crystal soapbox like phone.

Cobalto and Zafiro are two futuristic concept devices that have been designed by getting inspired from Sci-Fi movies like “Minority Report”. Cobalto, the glass screen of this mobile phoneconcept has been envisioned to be able to produce 3D objects in the air which is really exciting. Since time immemorial, zero has been synonymous with bringing in a revolution, be it mathematics or the new concept phone designed by French designer Josselin Zaigouche. Nokia Eitri, Jig and Corolla Are the Future Phone

Somehow, the Engadget Mobile editors got their hands on the future of the Nokia smartphone portofolio, a roadmap if you want containing tons of prototypes that will be released by the Finns in the near or remote future. It’s logical that some of those may be cancelled, have been cancelled or will remain prototypes, but still we’re charmed by this novelty.

Three names stand out from the crowd of handsets: Corolla, a smartphone with a 3 inch VGA display, Jig, an AT&T landscape slider and Eitri, a QWERTY candybar with a 640 x 350 pixels display and a 5 megapixel camera.
