While on the move, what if any of your gadgets, such as a phone, laptop or iPod, run out of energy? Since it’s not always possible to carry a charger everywhere you go, what one can do wait for a power supply nearby. So, if such a situation arises, you can’t do much but wait till you get back home to pump life into your gadgets. But Revolution designed by Carl McGreavy is here to change this theory. Revolution is a self recharging digital camera which will get all the powers to function by a Dynamo.

The exceptional camera will exploit a series of gears to make this possible. When someone using it turns around the dynamo by spinning the camera with their fingers, it gets charged. This extra charge allows capturing a few more moments. The shape of the camera is high on functionality. The camera can be rotated without difficulty owing to the perfectly placed ring. As all the weighty components have been shifted to the right side, it gives the camera a pendulum like effect. Revolution comes in six charge ring colors and eight different case colors. So, one can easily mix and match to get a camera according to his/her taste.

Revolution will make sure that you don’t miss on capturing any moments that life has to offer just because of a low battery life!
Cellphones connecting people with each other have already turned the world into a global village. But we need more and more features to keep up pace with the rise in technology, which further needs a burst of processing power and storage capacity. Designers at Bounthavong Designs have come up with a concept that could revolutionize the mobile phone market forever.

Christened the Cloud BlackBerry, the concept phone links the user to the cloud computing network, which further provides unlimited storage space and processing power. The concept device is powered by a liquid fuel cell, which can be viewed through a transparent trim, revealing the amount of fuel within the device.
In offices all over the world printed paper sheets are often discarded when the printed document is no longer being used or needs some change. Industrial designers Chengzhu Ruan, Yuanyuan Liu, Xinwei Yuan and Chao Chen are trying to give these sheets of paper a second, more productive life, by converting them into pencil sticks. The team has conceptualized an office waste paper processor that does the task.

Christened the P&P Office Waste Processor, the device allows users to slide in waste sheets of printed paper, which are then rolled tightly with pencil lead in the center. After processing a fully usable stick of pencil pops out, adding some more life to old paper and saving a few trees in the process.
Sony has demonstrated its new flexible e-paper display at the 2010 Dealer Convention, which carries a plastic substrate rather than the usual glass panel for flexibility. Details on the product are scant, but the display could help save some trees that are cut down for our morning dose of news. Sony also states that this flexible display features increased resilience to breakage, which comes courtesy its flexible but strong plastic substrate.
The Hydrogen Kettle by industrial designer Matthew Smith is what camping enthusiasts might be looking for. This domestic kettle has been designed for use in the year 2100 and is powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The hydrogen cartridges are slotted into the center and the base of the kettle, where hydrogen is converted into electricity by fuel cells.

Since no electricity cables are required, this sustainable kettle can be used anywhere, anytime. The cradle profile of the base matches that of the top section, which makes the kettle sturdy once engaged. Around the hydrogen cartridges is a circular ring of LEDs, which illuminates when the kettle is turned on. The handle is designed in an ergonomic way, with grooves being cut to represent finger positions. Moreover, the control button is large enough to ensure ease of operation.
Nearly 4 billion trees are cut down each year to meet our paper needs. And, if you take a look around your room you’ll find many things made out of paper including newspapers and magazines. While recycling a ton of newspaper does help save approximately 4000 trees, how about a little bit of technology lending a helping hand in guarding our green preserve. eRoll is an electronic gadget which can help save a lot many trees from getting axed, thus reducing the risk of global warming. This concept widget with a rollable screen promises a feel-good factor similar to the one experienced in reading a real newspaper. Designed by Dragan Trencevski, the eRoll can be used for reading e-documents, magazines and many more things only meant to pile up as paper junk inside your house.
The Aeolus Phone concept by industrial designer Cyrene Quiamco has been created to reduce the burden on the grid and allow users to charge their devices anywhere at any time. The concept uses renewable energy such as wind power and solar power to charge its onboard battery.
The device is equipped with a power generating fan that will capture even the slightest breeze to produce energy. When the wind isn’t blowing, the phone uses onboard solar panels to recharge the battery.
The device features a simple, single color and an energy-efficient LCD screen. The designer claims that the device can be built from renewable materials. The Aeolus can also be attached to a bicycle or on the window of a car with a special tripod to help the fan generate more energy.
Providing an answer to the growth in the number of cellphones and the energy they require to keep running, industrial designer Liu Hsiang-Ling has come up with a concept cellphone that runs on the abundant energy provided by the sun.
Dubbed the Sticker Phone, this concept mobile phone can be attached to the windshield of your car or the window of your living room, where it harnesses solar energy to juice up its on-board battery. Designed to be made from silicone, the phone is flexible, allowing you to stick it even on uneven surfaces.

Concept cellphone designed to be powered by solar energy.

Industrial designer Aleksander Mukomelov is trying to make use of the latest advancements in technology, including flexible displays in a hi-tech cellphone dubbed the Mobile Script. The cellphone is designed to offer mobility, constant internet access, access to documents, games and give the best in terms of means of communication and contact.

The cellphone carries two touchscreens – a rigid small touchscreen and a flexible large touchscreen that hides neatly behind the smaller screen in collapsed state. The larger screen consists of two layers – a soft OLED touchscreen and a soft nano material that hardens when a small voltage is applied.
The concept device doesn’t require a power charge, as its case is covered with a nano-material that converts sunlight into electricity to recharge the cellphone’s onboard battery. In addition to the solar charging capabilities, the phone can also be recharged via a special wireless recharge rug or using a conventional wall socket.
