One can only imagine the level of satisfaction realized by a team of Korean designers who affected the Braille Stapler. Making the best of their inventive skills, the quartet comprising designer Dong Won Jang, Lee Hansub, Park Mihyang and Bae Jungmin have crafted a unique device that promises to alleviate the hurdles faced by the deaf-blind in communicating with the rest of the world.

The Braille Stapler marks a revolutionary makeover of the device by combining Braille board and Braille printer into single unit, thereby turning an otherwise difficult, slow and portable something into easy, quick and portable everything. The concept of the design revolves around an idea the Braille can be written using only six buttons. The user inserts the paper into the Braille stapler and simply pushes the six buttons to write a memo instantly. What makes the process effective and useful are the space button and the function for controlling Braille size. The device eases the issue of writing and reading in reverse once again since the Braille is written directly on the paper.

MiCoffee – Coffee Maker Concept by Carlos Marquez

Combining the servings of coffee, tea and hot cocoa in a single appliance, designer Carlos Marquez has presented a personal brewing station that allows users to customize the size of their beverage from 6oz, 8oz, 10oz or 12oz, so there is no waste of water. Entitled the “MiCoffee,” the coffee maker concept includes a pressure sensitive pad to know when a mug is under the spout, so the automatic setting does not go off without a container to catch it.

Designed to be pours straight into your favorite mug, the coffee maker presents an organic shape with sweeping curves and interlaced pieces to match the decor of contemporary apartments. Placing the coffee, tea, cocoa and water into the cylinder on the back part, the coffee maker also integrates customizable clock and timer settings, simple 3-button interface and hidden cord compartment. Featuring a sleek and compact design, the MiCoffee just measures 10 x 10 x 5″ (HLW) in dimension.

Tokyoflash “Space Digit” Watch Resolves A Muddle Of Digits To Tell Time

Developed by Japanese design studio Tokyoflash, the “Space Digit” is a wristwatch concept that presents a muddle of digits on its dial to resolve the age long riddle of the time. Presenting a silver ring around its face that contrasts against the black case and strap to raise the lens above the case, the digital watch covers the interface with a deep acrylic lens. As soon as the user touches the button, the watch illuminates the built-in LEDs in blue to flash three digits (representing hour, minutes and seconds), to tell the present time.

Futuristic Gadget Chair (G-Shell) Has Everything For A Geek’s Entertainment Needs

Over the period, there has been a complete shift in the primary function of a chair, i.e. seating the user in comfort. Expanding the function of common household furniture, British designer Jamie Martin has come up with a hi-tech seat dubbed the “Gadget Chair” that integrating game consoles, computer, TV/PVR, video & music playback and back massager in a single unit is sure to enhance the experience of the user. Incorporating miniature-cooling fans, heating elements and an adjustable lumbar support beneath the red exterior, the leather-upholstered chair also presents an ergonomic design to place you comfortably during those extended gaming sessions.

Placing an electronically adjustable 16:9 OLED screen upfront to work as a viewing platform for movies, gaming and internet access, the geeky chair too adds a number of multi-colored LED lights to project different tones on your surrounding environment, moving you in a zone far away from the real world. Surrounded by multi-directional illuminated speakers and a large sub-woofer, the user literally moves into the virtual world. The adjustable chair provides the user with an automatically retracting gaming wheel/joystick, where they can mount their keyboard/trackpad combo as well.

The ceiling-mounted motion technology allows both vertical and rotational movement, thanks to the hydraulic pistons. The chair provides a limited rotational motion to enhance the turns through the corners, allowing an altogether new gaming experience to the users. If this is not enough, it also connects multiple HD Digital TV tuners to the Mac/PC to utilize it as a 1TB high capacity PVR.
