Electrolux H20 Future Kitchen 2099 by Peter Vardai

Built on the principle of metamorphosis, the “Kitchen 2099” or “H2O” by Hungarian designer Peter Vardai is a futuristic kitchen that loses its exclusive part in the household and turns into its center by fulfilling all its necessities. For the basic substance, the claytronic atom, allows the owner to shape his/her kitchen according to their wishes and changing moods, which means that one single acquisition enables the usage of various models. The claytronic atom contains small (nanometer) silicium spheres that transmits the information or the current to each other. The material of the kitchen receives a preprogrammed form which can later be changed by the owner.

Designed for Electrolux, the kitchen of the future wraps in a box, which can be easily commuted and takes its desired shape only after having been activated. You may use its facilities anywhere, at home, in the garden or in any open space, as it is able to provide itself with energy and does not need outer connections. The box contains the cooking and freezing equipment, which take the shape of the products they need to include. In addition, you may use external electrical objects that generate power from the heat transferring metal. This kitchen contains fuel cells and the necessary hydrogen comes from a water splitting machine, which makes the end product of the burning gas to be potable, clean water.

Moreover, dishwashing and cleaning up becomes vile as the substance itself swallows the leftovers and takes them to the garbage can. The kitchen stores all the information and recipes. It can become the central energy supplier, whereas the brain of the flat, a strong and fast computer serves all the other facilities. You need not to lug a big machine, a basic netbook is enough, and when you connect the home one (remote desktop connection), you can take advantage of its full capacity. A small part of the kitchen serves as a place where you can grow spices and herbs, helping the oxygen formation.

Step Into The Future With Time Traveler’s Watch

A clock is essentially a time machine in that it is our only connection with time as we travel through it. Taking the clock one step further, designer Christie Brashers has designed a watch that can actually take you into the past and future. The watch disguises itself as fashionable wrist wear until touch-activated by the time traveler. It first shows the traveler which point in time he is currently in as the dots disappears and the date becomes visible. Before traveling, he selects a destination in time by scrolling his finger along the blue lines to shuffle through the year, month, day and time of day. When each time specification is determined, he is launched into space. Using OLED and digital scroll technology, the time traveler’s watch is more than just a timepiece that literally steps into the future.

Reading time from a clock is no more a child’s play, this is only one can say or feel after going through the brainstorming dial, in search of correct time, of the new watch concept. Entitled the “Binary Flow,” the new watch depicts the time as well as date in the groups of hours, 10 minutes and single minutes in three sections, with each line indicating an hour, a group of 10 minutes or a single minute. If this is not enough, the clock also shown time in binary, serving more food for your thought. Touting a USB rechargeable design with an embedded e-paper display, the Binary Flow uses a combination of materials to create the case and strap. Finally, hats off to the guys at Tokyoflash, who found the watch “extremely simple” to read.

Watch phones are here and touchscreen wrist phones are here too, taking the liberty and following the opportunistic league, designer Susan Cho has conceptualized a multi-touch phone that you can wear on the wrist. Now, there is still time before multi-touch technology reaches something so small in interface, but because the moment is right, we’ll take a look at what Cho has conjured up in this Sidewinder watch phone. The sleek and trendy watch phones interface is pretty calling, it features different menus and features like, contacts, keypad, setting, tool and others found on the smartphones very clearly on the UI, which the user can access with least fuss even when multi-touching. Equipped with GPS and maps, the Sidewinder watch phones seems a smartphone of the future, but how long we’ll have to wait before something of the sort gets a commercial go is something worth a thought. An e-paper design that shows the time in two different ways in one watch; digitally and with lines.

The wrist band is made of a thin sheet of stainless steel that wraps around your wrist like a bracelet, the e-paper is positioned beneath this band to form the time and information display.

The watch vibrates to give message, mail and call notifications from your cell phone and these will appear on the screen via Bluetooth wireless technology. With this design, the buttons are positioned at the top of the band.

Synced with the icon on your desktop, the flashy pen drive distinguishes data with different colors, such as pink for images, blue for documents and green for movies. The memory stick, when translucent, indicates the availability of storage space within, while on the other hand, the glass flashing with light signifies unavailability of data space, so you could scan it to fill or remove data without going through its memory status on your system.
