Leaf is a concept mobile phone specially designed by getting inspired from photosynthesis with eco-charging ability. This bendable cell phone is wearable by the user and is charged through solar cells placed on its front. Aside from the solar charging facility, this device can be charged via electricity if charging is required in a cloudy day or during nighttime. The key objective of this project is to make people realize about their contribution to energy efficiency while using an innovative and highly functional gadget with a smart look.

The Window Phone is a concept mobile phone that is able to transform its appearance like a window as per the weather. The phone is designed as a thin, clear and transparent plastic sheet, which remains clear during a sunny day, becomes humid during a rainy day and takes a dump outlook during a snowy day. The user can write text messages or draw pictures on the phone in different weather conditions which will later transform and show as SMS characters. The screen features sensitive interaction with the user and comprises the state of a window in differentweather conditions.

This new device is an electronic wrist watch and a mobile phone at the same time. It works on the both touch screen and voice recognition technology and the phone may be activated or deactivated via the green or red line given in the device. It also has a built in scrolling function that allows the user to move between various functions that is available on the device. It also has a built in camera which enables the users to click pictures and be able to send the same in real time. Well must say that it’s quite a chic product!

If only mankind could restrict their urge to have more than what is necessary, our earth would have been a much greener planet than it is today. But in our quest to possess everything, we have pushed the green limits to a threatening extent. One of the contributing components to this threat is the cell phone. With tons of them being launched each day, an equivalent number of them are being discarded too…..generously adding on to the ever-growing piles of e-waste. To combat such grievous issue, take a look at Fernando Robert’s concept devised for Green Gadget Design Competition 2008. Dubbed as the Cell Wrap, it’s the most basic design for a communicating device without any frills. Focusing on the idea of using a gadget simply for the purpose that it is intended to, the designer makes the best use of the recycled Polyethylene to literally wrap a lead-free LCD screen, a PCB Board and a keypad.
