Designers are covering that extra mile to come up with gadgets that will come wrapped with latest technology and attractive looks. Taking this ideology to an all new level, designer Shan Chen from China has come up with an awe-inspiring gadget named Ring Phone.
Hitch is a new way of capturing memories for family events. Paired cameras allow greater integration and ease of access to a range of shared photos taken by others at these events, both online or on the day. Paired devices can upload photos by placing on dock and photos from other cameras can also be shared via cardslot of bluetooth connection. These are aimed to provide a more sustainable and improved experience from the current disposable cameras which are often left on the table.
Sponsored by Samsung, the “Nek-fon” by designer Verenice Macedo is a cellphone concept that as indicated by its name can be worn around the neck like a necklace. Essentially a mobile phone built in a necklace, the futuristic cellphone detaches the pendent from the necklace to be used an earpiece. The Nek-fon also features a camera that projects a screen on any flat surface to let the user text, surf the internet and go through the contact list with minimum fuss. And when not in use as a cellphone, the hi-tech device becomes a fashion accessory for the trendy users.
Prosthetic limb is a novel innovation in itself, but if comes equipped with advanced technologies, it becomes more than handy for the user. The “Prosthesis” by designers Lukas Pressler and Nico Strobl is an identical limb that maneuvers effortlessly, via myoelectric sensoring, for the ease of the user. Integrating handy tools, such as a camera, flashlight, screwdriver, phone, bottle opener and an USB-stick for data exchange, the new artificial arm controls the tools with gestures. A step towards new cyborg-friendly society, the Prosthesis also includes a display at the forearm for fine-tuning without wasting any time.
Deafness extensivly affects social contacts, educational and career opportunities. Deaf people are very often restricted in their communication possibilites, respectively dependent on sign language interpreters.
The callenge was to enable deaf people to communicate freely, to make their everyday lifes easier and to reduce dependency on hearing people.
