MusicTube is a tube shaped music player that mimics a battery. Pretty small and light weight. Its LED screen runs through a series of useful information: song name, artist, album, gender, lasting, volume and battery status. The text scrolls sideways through it’s slim screen.

The concept comes from the idea of generating a music player that is as simple as possible, easy to use, carry and charge, and which fits into different lifestyles. It is operated with the command buttons located at the upper part of the device, it has play/pause, forward and backward buttons. The volume is adjusted by sliding your finger through the screen which shows a level graph. The battery charge and synchronization with the computer is realized through its base plugged to the normal USB port.

Have we ever contemplate on the fact that how harmful listening to loud music could be? The musical wave has given birth to products, like earphones and headphones, which could lead to deafness. Ear drums can get damaged and people may lose their hearing capability forever. Judicael Cornu has designed the Bone Conduction headphone, keeping all these factors in mind.

The industrial designer has made good use of the capacity of human body to produce sonorous transmission. The bones are made up of sonorous medium that will help sound reach the internal air directly. The device will skip the usage of eardrum altogether and save it from all kinds of damages. The human bone structure is a great amplifier and medium of sound waves, which makes our body a sound box in true sense.

The device consists of three parts: a headphone, ring and bracelet, which will help user savor music through their bones. All the pieces make use of specific bones and are placed in contact with different body parts. Sonorous information is transmitted to the bone tissue with the help of synthesis ceramic placed in the device. The headphone will run around the skull like an everyday piece. The design has been fitted with two ceramic rings that will form a contact with the temporal bone.

The user will have to wear the bracelet around the wrist, which has ceramic lens. It will transmit the sound when the lens forms a contact with the forearm bone. The base of the ring has been shaped like an hourglass and has to be clutched with the help of two fingers. Sounds will be transmitted when the ring is positioned near the jaw or cranium.

Bone Conduction headphone will help people suffering from deafness relish music. It will let the user listen music in a conventional manner sans hampering the eardrums. The headphone will prevent further damage and enrich the experience of the user.

Good quality music can instantly change the mood of a place. Israeli designer David Ganon has come up with an outside speaker system, which will make your soul dance with joy.

Normally, speakers are considered to be an indoor equipment and the outdoor usage is usually given a miss while designing. Setting one outside requires a lot of labor and can prove to be quite cumbersome, thanks to the cluster of wires involved. The creation by David will cut the use of heavy cables and make the installation effortless. The system has been shaped like a mushroom and has been crafted in a tasteful manner. It will exploit solar and wind energy for re-charging and save precious resources.

One can easily couple it with their personal music player like iPod, MP3 players, laptop, etc via Bluetooth. The speakers are placed at the bottom of the construction from where musical tunes spread around. It can also be used as a sunshade to protect you from harsh weather conditions like sun and rains. Instead of concealing the plastic reinforcing ribs, the designer has consciously made them an aesthetic part of the whole setup.

Bass Guitar Amplifier By Jim Toggweiler

This ET-like amplifier may be a little whimsical to look at but the gizmo is designed as an alternative to touring-centric bass amps. Created to suit non-professional home users, the amp is equally accessible by both sighted and blind bass guitar players. Blind people cannot interact with visual indicators like LED output monitors and values around knobs

Therefore, it is hard for them to differentiate between knobs as they are identical in shape and size thus rendering the craft of amp tuning virtually impossible to master without assistance. The Bass Guitar Amplifier from Jim Toggweiler looks to condense and simplify these functions and controls, replacing them with a more ergonomic system that allows the interface to be accessible to people without sight.

The amp was constantly tested with a research group that provided feedback on the ease of interaction and accessibility of features. The problem of the blind not being able to use knobs effectively was countered by giving each knob a clicking sound which increases and decreases in volume when users turn it. This lets the blind hear the value they are setting instantly.

The layout of the control panel was maintained in the left-to-right orientation with the typically cubic built-in speakers being housed in a rounded frame. The amp’s structure allows users to tilt it up to 30 degrees from the ground so they can easily use it while sitting. This frees blind users from having to bend down for long periods while they use their hands to navigate around the interface getting the setting right.

A 3mm hex key lets users raise and lower the two threaded legs of the amplifier adjusting them in range of angles. The amp’s body is finished in wood with a matching cover that can be fitted over the control panel to protect the interface during storage and travel.
